Qualities Of A Leader

Unwavering courage:

Courage is based upon knowledge, knowledge of self, and of one’s occupation. A leader can lead better with self-confidence and courage as no followers wish to be dominated by a leader who lacks self-confidence and courage.

Self-control:

People who cannot control themselves can never control or lead a team. Self-control sets an example for one’s followers and intelligent people will follow it.

Sense of justice:

A leader is expected to be fair and without a sense of justice, no leader can command or retain the respect of their followers.

Definiteness of decision and plans:

If a person is indecisive or waves from their own decision it shows that the person is not sure of themselves. And a successful leader plans his work and works his plan. Without definite plans and decisions, a person cannot lead successfully.

Doing more than paid for:

One of the qualities of a good leader is doing more than he is required to do.

Excellent in details:

Successful leaders are good with details. They don’t leave behind anything.

Empathy and understanding:

Successful leader understands their followers and the problems faced by them. A successful leader must show compassion to his/her followers so that even their followers give their best.

Cooperation:

A successful leader not only understands the principle of cooperative effort but is able to apply it and induce his followers to do the same. Leadership calls for power and thus, power calls for its cooperation.

Willing to take up full responsibility:

A successful leader must be able to assume responsibility for both the mistakes and shortcomings of his/her followers. A successful leader should not shift his/her responsibility on others

A strong personality:

Leadership calls for respect and a slovenly and careless person can never have the respect of his followers. Followers respect a leader who grades high with a strong personality.
