A deadlift is a weight training exercise that you do with a barbell or bar that you lift from the ground to the level of the hips or torso. It is known as one of the most beneficial work out for muscles. It targets your glutes, lats, shoulders, traps, arms, hips, pelvic muscles, and abs. By doing this exercise you are hitting all these muscles in a single exercise, and it efficiently trains groups of muscles.
To perform deadlift:
First set the barbell, add weight according to your strength and fitness level. If you are a beginner or someone who is trying for the first time, use a lightweight to know your strength and prevent injuries. If you are comfortable with the weight you can add more later as per your convenience and strength.
Now, set the bar, your feet should be approximately shoulder-width apart. The barbell should be at the midpoint of your foot, your toes should point forward or slightly outward. Bend your knees and hips, and sit back to reach and grab the barbell. Push your knees out and keep your back straight as much as you can. Grab the deadlift after bending down. Check the grip, keep your arm straight and lift it up. Stand up and bring the bar to you. Begin the movement by pushing your heels and knees, squeeze your glutes and hamstring to pull the bar. Lower the bar, return to the starting position and repeat it.
